Richard V. Rupp is an author of the FBI Special Agent Hartmann crime novel series. Death & Taxes the first novel in the series published in August 2015 received the Benjamin Franklin Silver Award for Best New Voice in Fiction.
His forte is storytelling, which is enhanced by his research skills learned in the business world. Before writing fiction, Dick was recognized internationally as a lecturer, writer, and published author on the subjects of insurance and risk management.
Dick was born in Santa Monica, California and raised in a Hollywood movie industry family. His father was a still photographer for major studios and his son is an award-winning grip/lighting director in Hollywood. He served in the Army Reserve where he was assigned to the Army Finance Corp. Dick's insurance industry assignments required him to travel the world, including frequent trips to London, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands.
Dick, now resides in Burbank, California - the Media Capital of the World.
