TIME TO BUILD AN ARK - 01.30.2021
January 30, 2021
For several years I thought climate change was going to turn Southern California into a desert. After the past few days, I'm convinced it's time to think about building an ark. God's advice to Noah may make sense today. The TV weathercasters say that we are experiencing the effects of an "atmospheric river." All I know is that the skies have opened up, and a lot of rain is falling. The burn scars from a couple of years of wildfires are turning into mudflows. The good news is that the snowpacks and reservoirs are building up so that we will have a water supply for a while. I'm also going to note that we don't need as much drinking water as we used to here in California as people seem to be leaving by droves because of the virus and the high cost of living.
No wonder my millennial twins and their friends in my upcoming novel SKYWARD want to colonize the Moon and Mars.
Speaking of millennials, apparently, they are taking an interest in the stock market. What's with GameStop. Millennials combined with the Internet are trying to teach the old white guys a lesson. Apparently, the lesson is just beginning. The trading of GameStop and a couple of other selected corporations is shifting the power dynamic on Wall Street. Trading of the video-game seller's stock had to be halted several times Thursday. Brokers sought to limit trading after the support of millions of retail traders (mostly millennials) in the Reddit forum "WalStreetBets" fueled intense volatility. The Reddit crowd has showcased individual investors' rising influence and their dislike for the standard quo.
I'm sure my young SKYWARD crowd had something to do with this. Except, their solution to changing the World is to leave it.
Back to writing so that you can soon meet Norman, Chris, Gavin, Elon, and Jeff in SKYWARD and see how they plan to change the World.
Cheers,
