SLEEP, COFFEE, & BOOZE - 01.25.2021
January 25, 2021
I loved reading a recent "Health" article in THE WEEK. I am leaving a few (maybe more than a few) concepts indicated in the piece out. Here is my selective interpretation of the article. According to the report, here's what I'm doing right. "Deep sleep may reduce the risk for Alzheimer's. . . (At my age, I'm getting plenty of sleep) Coffee can substantially shrink your risk of dying early. . . (I'm drinking lots of coffee, particularly as I write). Booze may be beneficial to the brain. . . (My brain is happy)." Yes, yes, I'm doing everything right.
I would have called it Bird Droppings. Really, Birdwatch? Today, Twitter announced its new effort to combat misinformation and disinformation. It will be tapping users to flag potentially misleading tweets. The new system allows users to discuss and provide context to tweets they believe are misleading or false. The project, titled Birdwatch, is a standalone section of Twitter. Birdwatch allows people to identify information in Tweets they believe is misleading or false. My question is, who's going to watch the Birdwatchers?
I'm into the PBS-Masterpiece show ALL CREATURES GREAT & SMALL. It's a happy, fun show with great characters. It takes my mind off the crazy world around us today. I didn't realize that vets used their arms on big animals the way they do. It seems to be a reoccurring procedure on the show. You'll have to watch the show to see what I'm talking about. Good to see Diana Rigg as part of the cast. I've always loved her work.
Now it's time to get back to working on my latest novel SKYWARD.
