It's my fairy tale or fantasy sci-fi and is taking a while to write. I'm not sure where it came from, but it popped into my head and won't go away. It's all about five young wealthy white guys who have figured out that their kind is not liked any longer. They probably were never really liked, but now they are really disliked. They believe that the pandemic is a sign from someone to them. Maybe the guy upstairs, who as millennials they really don't believe in. Whoever it is, they are saying the Earth you are standing on has mounting problems that are just going to keep expanding. And, it is believed you, yes you and others like you are part of the problem.

 

The five wealthy white guys realize that humans had historically been able to solve their problems by moving horizontally to new frontiers. But the horizontal new frontiers no longer exist. People are just bumping into each other, just like too many rats in a cage.   "When a pair of reproductively competent rats are placed in a closed space and provided with sufficient food, they will reproduce and reproduce until the space is filled with rats. At a critical density, wars break out. Some rats, alpha males, claim territory and defend it. Others attack. Sound familiar?" – from an article titled "Overpopulation & Terrorism: rats in a cage" by John Omaha on the CULTURE CHANGE website. The other part of the problem is that the cage is deteriorating.

 

My five white male millennials have the financial resources to change the direction of new frontiers from horizontal to vertical. They look SKYWARD to the universe. They believe that the universe has plenty of room for human expansion. In fact, so much room that exploration will replace waring antagonism. And, maybe a move SKYWARD will preserve the Earth for a while longer. This move also allows them to instill new values into the system—millennial values. Some say, "God help us." Others say, "God bless them."

 

The Moon is selected as the first step in their venture. They get the quiet backing of POTUS, who recognizes that private enterprise is the only way America can compete with the Chinese in exploring space. The pandemic and cultural wars have concentrated all of Americas' financial resources on solving or responding to earthly problems. Between the five millennials and POTUS, the go-between is FBI Special Agent Hartmann and Coleen Ryan.

 

It is determined that the Moon is the ideal jumping-off point for Mars, Europa, and other heavenly bodies. The Chinese have the same idea as the Bowman Twins and set up a military base on the Moon just before the Bowman Twins establish their Colony. The Chinese General who heads up the base is also a millennial who befriends the Bowmans. Jointly they agree to disagree with the powers that be on Earth and strike a deal on the Moon that creates a concept that may avoid war forever. At least for those living in space.

 

Over the past couple of days, I have gone through all my past posts – RUPP'S NOTES and FBI SPECIAL AGENT HARTMANN SERIES, and I know I'm starting to repeat myself. This journey will take a while longer. Hopefully, you will stick along for the ride. I guarantee you it will be an interesting one. Yes, there will be adventure, conflict, action, sex, humor, raised questions, and a look into the future.

 

Back to fantasy sci-fi writing. My mind is SKYWARD. Writing about crime on Earth is mundane. It's so common now that it is blasé.
