TIME MARCHES ON
Yes, it certainly does!
A lot of changes have occured in my life over the past two years. Sorry, for being out of touch, but I'm back now and I hope you will enjoy the changes I am making.
I'm not going to bore you with the details of the changes in my life. I will just say I'm now back to being a bachelor residing in Burbank, California - The Media Capital of the World - 10 miles from where I was brought up in Hollywood. My youngest son Brian, is a Grip/Lighting Director in the film industry and lives just 2 miles from my apartment. My new local watering hole Wokcano is in walking distance and the bar area is frequented by budding actors, actresses and behind the camera crewmembers.
I'm back to writing full time. My next novel "Death on the High Seas" continues the FBI Special Agent Hartmann series. My publisher advises me it should be out this fall. I will keep you posted on its release date, and will be seeking your imput on the cover design when I receive the artwork.
As respects producing a regular weekly newsletter, I have found it does not seem to fit into my current writing schedule. Writing fiction is a differnet animal from my years of writing business articles and books. In my business writing I became comfortable with my subject matter and could follow a logical pattern in my writing. In "fictional story telling" you never know where your characters are going to lead you. What I write varies with my mood, or something I read or saw, or dreamed up, or maybe it's how much wine I drank the night before. I can be taking a walk or a shower and suddenly an idea or direction will pop into my head. It's a fun ride! At least for me. So, there are times you just don't want to get off the 'fun ride' to produce a newsletter.
So bye-bye Rupp's Newletter, published weekly and hello Rupp's Notes, published when I have something of value to say to my friends and followers.
Here's the teaser from "Death on the High Seas" that will appear on the books dust jacket -
"The Captain would like to see you. He said to tell you it was most important."
"Do you know what it is about?"
"Yes, sir. But I believe it would be best if the Captain told you."
"Okay. I'll wait for the Captain to tell me. I need time to shower and change before seeing him."
"Understand, but please hurry sir."
Coleen watched with interest as Hartmann reluctantly climbed out of the hot tub. "If it's the Bureau tell them to put someone else on the case."
"You've got that one right."
After showering Hartmann followed the ship's officer to Cabin 8067. The Captain was waiting in front of the cabin door. "Thank you for coming, Agent Hartmann. This is Chief Guidant my Security Officer, and this is my Chief Medical Officer. The passenger in this cabin has apparently been brutally murdered. I'm not sure how to handle what has happened, and thought of you."
"What do yu mean brutally murdered?"
"Please follow me, I'll show you. But let me warn you, it's not pretty in there."
Hartmann entered the bedroom area of the cabin. "No that is not pretty. It's a first for me."
